Black Bears on the Tofino Coastline

Bear Watching – Private Tour (6 people)

Our vessels offer a comfortable way to view these majestic animals. We travel through some stunning scenery as we head up towards the Browning Pass to the rocky coastline of Fortune Channel where the bears tentatively scramble down to the waters edge from the rainforest above, to seek and forage the bounties of food the ocean has provided at low tide.

Black bears are abundant in Clayoquot Sound and are often seen with their extremely adorable cubs. These bears are seen while they seek out Rock Crabs, Clams and other seafood delicacies which have been exposed by the falling tide.

This enjoyable experience also offers the chance to view other wildlife such as Herons, Eagles, Seals and Porpoises as we travel through the remote passages.

Our local guides here at WardoWest will give you many fun facts about the resident black bears in Tofino as well as all the other animals that call this magical place home while on this informative and energetic tour.
